I just watched this 20 minute TED talk on the science of how our foods maintain our health. We already know this but its nice when the scientists demonstrate their proofs.
Basically, we can eat food which will prevent the growth of blood vessels that feed cancer tumours and many many other diseases including psoriasis and even obesity.
Here is the list of foods Doctor Li identifies as potent:
apples oranges lemon grapefruit
strawberries blackberries raspberries
blueberries green tea pineapple
cherries red grapes red wine
bok choy kale soy beans
tomatoes tuna sea cucumber
ginseng maitake mushroom liqorice
turmeric nutmeg artichokes
lavender pumpkin parsley
garlic olive oil grape seed oil

Interestingly, this list has a large overlap with the findings of Dr Williamson at Leeds University on the top 20 foods for a long and healthy life. These are foods high in polyphenols. The full list can be found here:
